What's the difference between solid oak and oak veneer?

Solid oak is cut from a single piece of lumber and maintains its strength, grain, and appearance throughout the full depth of the wood. Oak veneer uses a thin layer of real oak bonded to cheaper composite materials like MDF or chipboard, which can chip, peel, or delaminate over time. All our oak bed frames are made from 100% solid oak—no veneers, no composites.

Do I need a new mattress when getting a new oak bed frame?

Not necessarily; our solid oak bed frames are made to fit standard US mattress dimensions. As long as your current mattress is supportive, comfortable, and free from sagging, it will perform optimally on our bases. 

How much weight can a solid wooden bed support?

An oak bed frame can support up to over 1,000 pounds (471 kg). This capacity is due to extra-thick solid oak slats (which are double the industry standard) and its handcrafted construction, which provide significantly more strength than standard mass-market alternatives.

Should I choose a light oak or dark oak finish?
